Assignment 4 - Unit 3 - ICT in Society

Portfolio Report 4: ICT in Community Activities

Your fourth report is about the impact of ICT in your local community

The important thing is that you:

  • List examples of local community activities which use ICT in a range of ways
  • In each case, explain the technology used (i.e. hardware, software, special equipment)
  • Explain, in each case, how the ICT is meeting a community need
  • Evaluate, in each case, how well the technology or service meets the communities needs
  • You can study one community activity in depth
(e.g. the different services and technology used in your local public library)
or you could look at a number of different community activities which use ICT
(e.g. a local library, a local museum, a local Cyber Cafe, local on-line Public Transport service, etc.)
